I got a ruby as my very first drop in the Cantha starting area when I created an Assassin. I take that as a good sign. 0_o

The only time it really matters to black it out is:
PvP builds
Farming builds.
Regular pve trashy nub levels can be beat with any skill bar and dont really need to be blacked out.

If they can be beat with any build then it doesn't matter if he blacks it out or not

No use for them now but people believed that they will be used for armors or Jewles in Ch2 and their price was 7-8k
Now Ch2 is out and no armor uses them, and their price dropped to 1-2k.
Now since people believe that they will get a use in Ch3 they are gaining price a bit.
But no one knows what they will be used for.

Maybe instead of using them for armor crafting they will be used as a "cosmetic" change. I know some players want to be able to change their characters face, hair, skin tone, etc. This could be a big gold sink. They could introduce a "cosmetic merchant" who take rubies and sapphires to make the changes.

How many times have the idea's of hair/face changes been brought up and how many topics started on said concept? Lets not turn this topic into yet another.

sorry. but how many topics are there about them being used for armor? tons.
Didn't mean hijack the thread or anything Besides, there were several replies here that were only talking about blacked out skill bars, others talking about using them for armor, that's why I gave my opinion. My bad I guess
